Like Ryan Adams, I’m out of love for New York lately, perhaps prompted by all our other recent trips to other American cities.

Favorite things from our Chicago trip:

Southwest‘s consistently on-time airplanes (at least on our route, and despite stomach-churning turbulence).

Seeing friends I’ve known for 30 years.

The bird display at the Field Museum.

A three-hour, three-bottle of champagne dinner at La Madia.

Taking a rowdy cab ride with four generations of my family.

The sewing machines at AllSaints Spitalfields, which I mistakenly took to be a gothic Singer rave.

Ditching the big camera for some iPhoneography.

Watching my five-year-old fall in love with travel.

Our New Studio (and Some Breakfast from Dexter’s Thornton Park)

Today?  It was a good day.

We inspected our new house in Delaney Park this morning, and stopped off for some breakfast on the way.  Thank goodness Dexter’s of Thornton Park is now serving weekday brekkie, because this girl’s tired of making the trekkie just on Sundays for her Dexter’s brunch fix.  I had bacon, served with a side of  egg-white omelet filled with caramelized onions, fresh pesto, and tomatoes

Then it was on to the new house on Delaney Park Dr, with our new studio sitting pretty in the backyard.  I’ll show you that tomorrow.

Welcome!

Like many other photographers, I’ve been frustrated by the disconnect between my website, portfolio, and blog.  Do I host them all in one spot, on one site, or do I split them (and my time and interest)?  Do I stay with the same design across each site, or do I mix it up?  Am I more ‘formal’ on my portfolio and less so on my blog?  I’ve felt so schizoid, and the result is that I ignore both my site AND blog while I try to reconcile the two.

Can’t my internet personalities just get along?

This is my solution:  a one-site-fits-all, where you can find my images, my recent sessions, my rambles.

To quote John Mayer:  my website is a wonderland.  Or something like that.
